Minimalism. Simplicity. Explosive Strength. Total body engagement. Kettlebell training can deliver all of these things and more!
I first learned about kettlebells in 2009, reading some of Pavel Tsatsouline's earlier books, including Enter the Kettlebell and The Naked Warrior. It wasn't until I explored the world of CrossFit and other strength training realms that I was able to grip the horns of my first kettlebells. I realized that this somewhat weird weight appealed to me as a training method. The more I explored kettlebell training, the more it inspired me and improved my athletic performance.
Kettlebells appealed to me because I could achieve most, if not all, of my strength training needs with just one piece of equipment! The best part? Location hardly mattered — I could train in my home, at a gym, on the beach, or in a park. These days, I typically keep at least one kettlebell in my car, so that I can meet my strength training needs wherever I wind up.
I sought teachers in the hardstyle kettlebell world, first learning from Pavel Stejskal, and later Dan John, to learn how to move kettlebells correctly, and how to instruct others to do so safely and productively. I completed my RKC Level 1 Kettlebell Instructor course in May 2022 and am excited to bring this kettlebell knowledge back to Asheville. I currently offer multiple kettlebell workshops per year, as well as one-on-one training sessions to fine-tune your practice.
Kettlebell training can benefit individuals from all walks of life. Whether you're looking to incorporate something new into your existing strength training program or acquire the knowledge and skills to have a conveniently minimal home gym, I can help! I teach appropriate progressions and regressions for a variety of kettlebell movements so that you can safely train and achieve your goals.
